**Shobukan Judo Club** is one of the oldest and most prestigious judo dojos in the nation, serving the Honolulu community since 1908. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the club is dedicated to teaching the art of Kodokan Judo to students of all ages in a respectful and disciplined environment. Located in **Liliha**, Shobukan has a legendary history of producing champions, including over 75 National Champions and two Olympians. The youth program is designed to build strong minds and bodies, emphasizing the core values of "Seiryoku Zenyo" (Maximum Efficiency) and "Jita Kyoei" (Mutual Welfare and Benefit). Students learn not just self-defense, but also discipline, fellowship, and integrity—skills that translate to success in school and life. **Youth Programs:** * **Beginners (Ages 5–8):** A foundational class focusing on safety, falling techniques (ukemi), and basic ground work. * **Intermediate/Advanced (Ages 9–12):** Expands on techniques with more complex throws and sparring drills. * **Teen/Adult Class (Ages 13+):** Introduces advanced submission techniques like chokes and armlocks in a safe, controlled setting. **Location:** 525-E Kunawai Lane, Honolulu, HI 96817 *(Located in Liliha, near Kuakini St)* **Note:** New students must be at least 5 years old to join.
