About

**Kahala Jiu-Jitsu (KJJ)** is more than just a martial arts school; it is a "Life School" dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders in Honolulu. As Hawaii’s only female-owned and operated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy, led by **Professor Daynin Dashefsky**, KJJ offers a uniquely nurturing and inclusive "Ohana" environment where children of all ages can thrive. Unlike traditional fight schools, KJJ focuses on building resilience, discipline, and self-respect through a structured, age-appropriate curriculum. The youth program is meticulously divided to ensure every child gets the attention they need, from playful coordination drills for preschoolers to advanced leadership training for teens. **Youth Programs by Age:** * **Preschool BJJ (Ages 3–5):** A fun, high-energy introduction to gross motor skills and listening, designed to build confidence early. * **Kids BJJ (Ages 6–8):** Focuses on self-defense fundamentals, discipline, and focus to help students succeed in school and life. * **Pre-Teens (Ages 9–11):** A challenging program that builds grit and resilience while teaching practical self-defense. * **Teen BJJ (Ages 12–17):** The ultimate "screen-free" zone where teens develop leadership skills, authentic friendships, and physical strength. With a mission to create "thinkers, leaders, and problem solvers," Kahala Jiu-Jitsu is the perfect place for parents seeking a supportive community that values character as much as competition. **Programs:** Preschool to Teen BJJ, Family Classes, Birthday Parties, Summer Camps **Owner/Head Instructor:** Professor Daynin Dashefsky
