Operating out of the Hongwanji Mission School gym in Honolulu, **Elev808 Basketball** is a dynamic, community-driven program designed to help local youth reach their true potential on and off the court. Founded by Coach Kris Maeda, who has been deeply involved in Hawaii’s youth basketball scene since 2007, the program focuses on ability-based instruction. Whether a child is just learning to dribble or is an advanced player preparing for high school varsity, Coach Kris and his staff provide a friendly, positive, yet competitive training environment. Their philosophy centers on instilling a strong sense of discipline while encouraging creativity on the hardwood. What makes Elev808 stand out to local parents is its reliable, year-round structure and holistic approach to athlete development. Beyond teaching fundamental basketball skills like footwork, spacing, and attack moves, the coaching staff emphasizes general gross motor skills, coordination, and teamwork.
