Located in Aiea, DVG Jiu Jitsu (David vs. Goliath) is more than just a martial arts academy—it’s a character development center built on the Relson Gracie lineage. Led by Professor Brandon Gross, the academy embraces the philosophy that technique conquers size, empowering students to overcome larger obstacles both on the mats and in life. Their mission is to provide "fitness in disguise," where keiki develop discipline, respect, and confidence through fun, high-energy classes that don't feel like a chore. Their youth programs are meticulously divided by age to ensure developmentally appropriate learning. From the playful coordination drills in the Juniors program to the disciplined self-defense techniques in the Kids program, every session focuses on "non-violent self-defense." This approach gives parents peace of mind knowing their children are learning to de-escalate conflicts and protect themselves without promoting aggression. It is a supportive *ohana* environment where every child is challenged to be 1% better every day.
