Serving the military community at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and surrounding areas, **AYSO Region 188** provides a high-quality youth soccer program grounded in the six core philosophies of the American Youth Soccer Organization: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development. This volunteer-run region is dedicated to creating a fun, family-friendly environment where children can fall in love with the game while building character and lasting friendships. Region 188 offers a robust "Core Program" that runs through Fall and Winter/Spring seasons, catering to players of all skill levels. From the introductory Jamboree sessions for 5U players to the competitive matches for teenagers, the program focuses on player development over "winning at all costs." With a strong emphasis on volunteerism, parents are encouraged to get involved as coaches and referees, fostering a tight-knit community spirit that supports the unique needs of military families in Hawaii. **Program Highlights** * **Core Program:** The foundation of the region, offering structured play for boys and girls from **5U through 19U**. * **Age-Specific Fields:** tailored field locations including McChord Street Field (5U-10U) and Twin Palms (12U+). * **Everyone Plays:** A mandatory policy ensuring every player participates in at least 50% of every game. * **Teen Divisions:** Combined 16U/19U divisions are often formed to ensure older athletes have a place to compete, sometimes partnering with neighboring regions. * **Camps & Clinics:** Occasional skills camps and referee/coach training sessions are offered to enhance the soccer experience.
