About

**Aranami Dojo** offers authentic Kyokushin Karate training for youth in **Honolulu, Hawaii**, with convenient locations in **Makiki** and **Mo'ili'ili**. Led by **Sensei Ryan Layman**, who brings over 20 years of martial arts experience from Japan and the US, the dojo is dedicated to building strong bodies and resilient minds through traditional Japanese discipline. "Aranami" translates to "rough waves," symbolizing the rigorous yet rewarding nature of the training. Our youth programs are divided by age to ensure age-appropriate instruction: * **Little Waves (Ages 4–5):** A fun introduction to focus, coordination, and listening skills. * **Youth Class (Ages 6–12):** A structured program that builds confidence, self-defense skills, and physical fitness. As a proud member of the **World So-Kyokushin** organization, we provide a supportive "ohana" atmosphere where students are challenged to do their best. Whether your child is looking to compete or simply improve their focus for school, Aranami Dojo provides the tools for success. **Locations:** * **Makiki:** Makiki District Park (1527 Ke'eaumoku St, Honolulu, HI 96822) * **Mo'ili'ili:** Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i (2454 S.
